Purchase orders on a project

Track purchasing for a project from the Purchase Orders tab on the project detail page.

Last updated May 20, 2026

What this guide covers

Purchase orders (POs) document what your business ordered from a vendor for a specific project. They live on the project detail page so purchasing stays tied to the work it supports.

Purchase Orders tab

Open a project, then select the Purchase Orders tab (URL: ?tab=pos). The table shows:

  • PO number and date
  • Vendor name
  • Status (draft, active, fulfilled, or cancelled)
  • Total amount
  • Whether a vendor bill is linked

Create a PO from the project

Use Create PO to open the purchase order dialog with the current project pre-selected. Line items require an expense category and can inherit the project automatically.

Open an existing PO

Click a PO number to open its detail page, where you can edit lines (while the PO is editable), review totals, and see linked vendor bill information.
