What this guide covers
Legal terms and commercial payment terms are configured from the Estimates page — not from Settings — so they stay next to the documents that use them.
Terms templates tab
Open Estimates → Terms Templates (/app/estimates?tab=terms-templates).
Terms templates hold reusable rich-text blocks appended to estimates (scope exclusions, warranty language, cancellation policy, etc.).
For each template you can:
- Name and describe the template for internal selection
- Edit body content used on estimate PDFs and client portal views
- Set default or archived state per your permissions
When building an estimate, assign a terms template so client-facing PDFs stay consistent.
Requires estimate_terms_templates_access (create/edit levels vary by role).
Payment terms tab
Open Estimates → Payment Terms (/app/estimates?tab=payment-terms).
Payment terms describe when payment is due — Net 30, 50% deposit, due on approval, etc. Each term includes:
- Display name shown on estimates and invoices
- Optional description for internal staff
- Sort order for pickers
Estimates reference one payment term; changing business defaults does not retroactively alter sent estimates until edited.
