What this guide covers
Client portal access is granted through client contacts — people linked to a client account who can sign in to review estimates, projects, and media (within visibility rules).
Contacts tab
Open a client → Contacts (?tab=contacts).
Each contact shows:
- Name, email, phone
- Portal link status (invited, active, not invited)
- Estimate email preferences
Adding a contact with portal invite
When creating a contact:
- Enter name and email (required for invites)
- Optionally enable Send client portal invite
- Save — NidusCore either links an existing NidusCore account or creates a new invite
For new accounts, you may receive a copy invite link option for manual delivery if email fails.
Inviting existing contacts
For contacts without portal access, use Invite to client portal from the contact row menu. The system:
- Links the contact to an existing user with the same email, or
- Creates a fresh invitation with set-password flow
After invitation
Clients accept via the invitation email, set a password, and choose their client/business context at login. See Client Portal → Getting started for the client-side experience.
Permissions
Managing contacts and sending invites requires client contact edit permissions on your role. Portal impersonation (login as client) is a separate elevated permission when enabled for support workflows.
